When Asher pulled her in and kissed her again, it was Abigale’s turn to be surprised. She never thought she could find love again, not after what happened, but now she was sure this was just that. But it was different now. The feeling was stronger,maybe because now she was a demon, who wasn’t supposed to feel emotions. Yet in that moment she felt like they were the only two beings left. No one else mattered. 

“And just for the record,” she said, before slipping him another kiss and then sitting back against the couch, “I hate the rain.” She looked over to him, sure he recalled the conversation they had been having prior. ” In the underworld, it’s dark and dry, and I suppose after being there for so long, you don’t really appreciate the feeling of water on your skin.” Abigale rested her chin on her hand and leaned against her lap before continuing to ramble on.

“Some of the people here say that rain is just the tears of weeping angels, but they get to fly and be free while the rest of the dead are stuck in the earth. I’m not sure what they have to cry about.”

❦||Once Asher had to separate himself from the kiss he wished would last forever he found himself looking into her lavender eyes. When she spoke he cocked his head, making sure to catch every word. After a while he nodded from understatement. “Yes, but in this case it’s what brought us here.” He laughed a little and then relaxed back on the couch.

He raised his brows. “Hm, I’ve heard that one too. I thought that was just a children’s tale. Perhaps so, but I believe everyone cries. They would have to be crying while flying, though, for it to be rain and that would be odd.” He thought it over remembering the angels that he had met in his life. “Maybe it is true….” He offered a shrug and then closed his eyes while pressing the cool wine glass to his lip again and taking a generous drink.

He laughed a little thinking of the story he was about to tell. “When I was younger my mother and father were explaining of the sea, seeing as we lived near it. They said that the waved never stopped because there was a giant living far underneath the water that was walking on the bottom of the ocean. Of course now I know that it isn’t true, but back in the day it really scared me. I believed it. ” He smiled in remembrance still resting his eyes.

It was strange to think of how many years had actually gone by since she had kissed someone. And now it was a shinigami none the less. He tasted of wine and cigarettes and there was just a hint of rain from before, and it was beautiful because that is exactly what she had expected.

❦|| Asher smiled as she continued. He watched her ‘right about.’ Asher’s eyes widened as she pressed her lips to his. He had never kissed a demon before, there was something so strange about it but it wasn’t exhilarated. This moment wasn’t lustful but instead beautiful and loving. He let his eyes close for the remainder of the kiss but when it ended he was looking straight into her eyes, his jaw loose. Asher paused before speaking. “-ah, I see. Well, I like where that was going.” He smiled before caressing her cheek and letting his hand traced down to her chin and bring the demon in for another kiss. He smiled right before pressing his lips against hers once again.

It was a warm atmosphere as the fire crackled, the wine had comfortably warmed him, and the feeling of Abigale’s lips against his was like heaven…the simile was ironic, yet truthful. In that moment Asher could truly think that he had fallen in love with this girl. Everything about her…she was what he wanted and she was who he wanted to be with. Perhaps it was just an in the moment thing, but god, he wanted that moment to last forever.

Such a gentleman. In a strange way it made Abigale want to laugh. Of course she didn’t though. It was considered rude to laugh out loud with no explanation.

” The basics, hmm? Well, let’s see.. My favorite color is also violet, I’m partial to owls, and neither tea nor coffee really appeal to me.” Abigale thanked him for the drink and looked out the window for a moment. Not only was it raining, but the wind had picked up, and now clouds covered every visible expanse of sky.

“I pity whoever is caught out there,” Abigale said, still watching the rain hit the window in sheets.

❦||Asher smiled and took a sip, the fine wine was wonderful and immediately warmed him. “Ah, great minds think alike.” He joked and then nodded. “Owls are beautiful creatures, although it isn’t often that I run into them.” He took notice of the increasing rain and tilted his head in the direction of the window. “Ah, the clouds are covering up all the stars and that beautiful moon….” He sighs. “Quite a shame but I can’t say that I don’t love the rain.” He speaks smoothly before taking another small drink swishing it around in the glass to watch the wonderful hang. “So….Abigale.” He starts not wanting to come off too blunt but still wanting to speak a bit more about the occurrence that had taken place he moment it started raining. “Where did we leave off before the rain forced us inside?”
